Zombie Aplay-listalypse

I saw this on a friend of mine’s Facebook page and loved the idea. Like anything I do, I took it a little further than I needed to and thought out a minor story-line to go with each one. Then, I put in the links so you can play the song along. For your reading and listening, or ignoring, pleasure:
My personal story, within a zombie apocalypse, soundtrack:
Okay, so these are my initial picks. These are the ones that I’d have playing in the background during the pivotal parts of the zombie movie based around me.
The overall theme for the Apocalypse.
Splendid Isolation – Warren Zevon
I’ve always wanted the apocalypse to come in a way that gives me a fighting chance and, if I have a strength in any one of them, it’s a zombie apocalypse. The biggest problem I suspect I’d have to deal with would be the loss of everyone I know and care about. At the same time, though, I’d lose all the fucker-faces of the world.
If I’m picking this to soundtrack the movie that’s based around me, after the fall of the human race and the rise of zombies on Earth, I’d first have to deal with the fact that I may be alone for a very long time.
When you kill your first zombie.
Who Shot Ya – Notorious B.I.G.
I just fucking killed somebody! I know, I know, I know. It was a zombie. Either way, though. I shot a bullet through a human skull and stopped it from moving. I’m either freaking-the-fuck-out or feeling like a total bad ass.
It makes sense that I’d try to get some swagger in a time like this. Confidence will be hard to come by; every success must be celebrated. I won’t tilt my 9 to the side, though.
When you’re getting chased by a horde.
Running, not driving, as fast as I possibly can, in a frantic - “I could have a heart attack at any moment. I should have exercised more” - moment where I’m literally just hoping my random choices will pay off.
This would really be more for the viewers excitement because the blood pumping in my ears would drown out the music, if the zombie moans and shuffles don’t.
When you have to kill your loved one.
Not so much the exact moment of the killing, but the dramatic walk away where I leave the body to be picked apart by crows … You know, when I’m being inconsolable by my fellow survivors. If there’s alcohol around, I’m probably drinking but not getting drunk.
By the end of the song, however, I would be getting all G’d up (Barney calls it “suiting up”) and getting ready to kill more zomberinos.
When you find a group of survivors.
Fuck yeah! You guys didn’t die?! We should have a party, or something. Well … nothing to crazy. Don’t wanna attract any zombies to our hide out.
This is the song I’d have on me, but basically I’m saying that we (the collective group of survivors) would sing this together. It would be a bonding moment, where small amounts of character would be revealed. Just enough so you care when they die, later.
When you meet a new love interest.
Black No.1 (Little Miss Scare-it-All) – Type O Negative
This is a new world. There are more dead people walking on Earth than living ones. It takes a certain type of girl to attract my interest now. I can only imagine what will excite me after I’ve killed hundreds of undead.
I imagine she’d be desensitized and cold, like me.
When you have to make a final stand.
Metal goes with gun shots. It just does. Imagine all the corpses falling, into piles, after each one is shot in the head. Unfortunately, if it is ultimately my “final” stand, there will be too many. Might as well go out in a blaze of gory metal awesomeness.
I’d be screaming louder than you’d think. Better make sure it’s full volume.
When you think you’ve survived it all.
Feeling Good – Fr33m4n’s Dubstep Remix of Muse
Oh? We managed to plug the last door way with corpses? That should hold for a while at least. The ecstasy of living through something you though was going to kill you isn’t matched by anything else in your life. This was certainly the time I was going to die; I’m probably pretty high.
If I can still manage marijuana in an apocalyptic situation (and I would try), this is the time to light up.
When you discover a bite mark on you.
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck! Are you serious?! After all that, all the fighting and killing, one of them got me?
Of course my story is a tragedy… That’s always the case. Or am I just being pessimistic and morose because I’m DYING?!
When the credits roll.
I Will Follow You Into the Dark – Death Cab for Cutie
This is my death song, which would probably be the end of the movie. I actually want this song to be played some time near my death. It’s the most comforting feeling I’ve ever been able to get when contemplating the idea of not existing anymore.
Also, if I’m going to turn into a zombie and not shot immediately, I like the idea of me just joining the rest of the world in Zombie-dom.
The all Queen version:
The overall theme for the Apocalypse.
Because I like the mystical over the viral.
When you kill your first zombie.
When you’re getting chased by a horde.
When you have to kill your loved one.
When you find a group of survivors.
When you meet a new love interest.
Crazy Little Thing Called Loved
When you have to make a final stand.
When you think you’ve survived it all
When you discover a bite mark on you.
When the credits roll.
